Advantages of Designing Your Own Plywood Base & Light socket Cord Light Fixture

Not sure where to start when it comes to hanging your garden flood lights?

No matter what you're growing, flood lights are great for speeding up growth and yielding more crop. But perhaps you're not sure how to hang them properly and get the most out of your investment.

That's why we put together this plan that helps people like you get started with their lights. Here's our recommendations:

 ---

Which one of these sounds like you?

The following is our recommendations based on how many plants you'd like to grow:

For rotation crop growers who like to start 6 new seeds every two months, 1 sheet of plywood will make two 4' wide x 3' long lights, each being ideal for 6 adult plants, plus one 4' wide x 2' long light ideal for seedlings and up to 14" tall.

For those who like to grow 12 plants, one sheet of plywood will make a 4' wide x 5' long light, with enough left over to make a 4' wide x 3' light.

For those who want a really large crop, one sheet of plywood can easily support 21 to 30 plants.

For those who like to use a grow tent, you can cut your plywood 3' x 6' long which is ideal for 18 plants.

Now to Build the Board:

Do not use particle board, flake board, or ox board.
Use only 1/2" or 3/4" plywood sheeting. We also recommend reinforcing the bottom outside perimeter of all light fixtures with a 2x2. You can use as little as one bulb per square food of light.

However, if you want superior results, we recommend the following:

  • 4' x 2' light fixture- use one 15 light socket cord with no tail
  • 4' x 3' light fixture- use one 25 light socket cord with 4" tail
  • 4' x 5' light fixture- use one 15 light socket cord and a 25 light socket cord with 4" nails
  • 4' x 8' light fixture- use two 25 light socket cords with tail.
  • 3' x 6' light fixture- use two 15 light socket cords.

My Personal Note:

If you use my method of lighting, you can hang your light on any angle to accommodate all your plants, from shortest to tallest, all at the same time.

I also offer a complete hardware hanging kit with everything you need to hang your light fixture- the only thing I can't supply you with is the plywood due to shipping cost. For cannabis growers, this method will allow you to produce the highest quality cannabis there is, while saving you enough money in the long run on energy savings- with those savings, it pays for itself!
